Ifugao Province

Two years ago I spent two weeks in the mountains of the Ifugao Province, northern Luzon Island in the Philippines. My guide, Robert, introduced me to the people in these photographs and helped me to photograph them. They were a joy to work with and spend a few moments of my time with as well. They were happy people, strong people, kind people. Their ways are old, their souls are old, their love is without measure. The photographs were given to the Ifugao Province Tourism Board to help with public relations and advertising hoping to bring more people to the awareness of what these people and their warrior ways to the world. The moral code of the warrior is very much alive there as is a spiritual life few known in the west. I was blessed with running into my two guides from ten years ago on the second day of this trip. It was one of the best reunions I have ever had. It was if we had never been apart. These three men will always be my friends and people I love.
